How Much Does A Simple Website Design Cost?
Simple website design packages include a .com domain (Free 1 year) Irish web hosting (Free 6 months), custom design features, e-mail, enquiry form with Spam filter and basic SEO as standard with web design prices starting at €395 total.
I’ll register a ‘.com’ for you based on your preference and availability of the website address (I can also order .ie domain names for you). You’ll be provided with exact guidelines when we talk.
How Do We Work Together?
Give me call (Peter 087 9767812) or e-mail me. We’ll discuss your business and your goals and how we can make your website add value to your enterprise.
After we discuss your requirements all you need to do is supply the website text and images. Other useful reference you can provide (if available) includes your brochures, business card, ads and other marketing material you have used in the past. If you don’t have any of those, no worries.
Do We Need To Meet To Discuss The Project?
Not usually. Clients and I rarely need to meet because the Starter Website process is so simple and straightforward. I serve all of Ireland and I’m open to clients from the UK. As I’m based in Kerry it wouldn’t be sensible or economic to meet every client. Meetings take time, time that drives up prices and because it’s not necessary to meet it’s better to do business by phone and email.
If you really do need a face-to-face I can meet in Tralee, Dingle and anywhere in between.
How Are You Different?
My key differentiator is that I know web design, I know search engine optimisation (SEO – get Google placement), I know online marketing techniques and understand the important role a website has as part of your “marketing mix”.
Remember, a website is just one important factor in your marketing mix.
I’m genuinely passionate about working with Starter Website clients, the vast majority of whom are small business owners with a “can do” attitude and the guts to give it a go. I have taken every skill I’ve learned from over a decade in the industry (and three limited companies!) to create and fine-tune web packages tailored for small business owners. I’m constantly making adjustments to improve my web design packages in order to provide you guys with solid, optimised, stylish websites at affordable rates.
My websites prices are extremely competitive so that the cost of getting online ceases to be a discouraging factor for anyone.
Why Are Your Prices So Reasonable?
I keep prices low and quality high by cutting back on administration. This includes unnecessary meetings, multiple design reviews and by keeping the process simple. I work on fixed layouts which speeds up turnaround time and I work mainly on simple website designs with simple functionality which also helps keeps costs low. Like so many of my clients I work from a home office so my overheads are minimal.
My advertising costs are also low because many of my clients refer friends and family to my service. Starter Websites offer genuine value for money and clients appreciate that and want to ensure people they know get the best deal for their money.
Do You Do Complex Websites?
No. I don’t do auction websites, comparison websites, multiple database websites. The vast majority of small businesses need simple websites that look professionally designed, that will be online quickly and that won’t cost them an arm and leg.
That’s what I specialise in. By staying focused on the core customer requirements I can deliver a better product, rather than “trying to be all things to all people”.
What Information Do I Need To Supply?
The best way to approach this is to think about what you need your customers to know. Consider providing information about your location and contact details, product or service description, pricing, details about your experience in the industry, your unique selling proposition, testimonials, and so on.
Also provide service related images if possible and a logo if you have one.
Are You Qualified To Do This Work?
Yes. I have been working in digital design and multimedia since 1998 including work with several plc’s, my own TV production company and my previous web design limited company. I have qualification in business studies, classical animation and later digital multimedia, qualifying for each with distinctions.

By the way, most people opt for the lowest cost website I offer, currently only €395, and it’s the one I recommend to most clients, even those with larger budgets at their disposal!
What Sort Of Business Do You Like Working With?
I like working with bed and breakfasts, sole-traders, beauticians, life & career coaches, marketers, building & energy raters (BER), trades people, service providers and entrepreneurs; the sort of businesses who advertise in the local papers and are personally involved in developing every facet of their enterprises.
How Long Will It Take To Get My Website Running?
Each website is live within 10 full working days of my receiving all the website content, many are live within 5 days or less.
What Are The Ongoing Costs Of Owning A Website?
Your domain name (or website address) and web hosting are essential requirements for having a website live and available online. I charge a total of €105 per year for both. There are no other hidden charges.
The only other costs are for ‘add-ons‘ and website updates:
* Add-ons can include more pages, additional web forms, images slideshows and so on. These are priced based on requirements.
* Updates can include text changes, image replacements, SEO updates and contact information updates. Most clients would have a maximum of two to three updates per year, usually costing no more than €60 to €90 per year. I recommend clients make a list of multiple updates and submit them all at once, as this will keep update costs really low.
What Is Search Engine Optimisation?
Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process used by SEO specialists to format the content of web pages so that search engines return those pages at the top of search results when ‘keywords’ related to the web page are entered. This improves your chances of competing with websites in your niche and can increase your visitor numbers.
